When Reptiles Attack
Sponsored by Plunkett CooneySaturday, May 19, 2018Detroit Athletic Club • Detroit, MichiganRegistration & Continental Breakfast: 7:30 a.m.Mock Trial: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This unique half-day mock trial will take attendees inside the courtroom to watch as the merits of a medical malpractice case are examined.
Is the plaintiff's bar prevailing at trial by scaring juries with what is called the "Reptile Theory" (the concept the "reptile brain" is conditioned to favor safety and survival over scientific fact)? What constitutes professional negligence or a recognized risk? Will the jury find in favor of the defendant doctor?
These and other questions will be answered by the jury and the attorneys of Plunkett Cooney’s Medical Litigation Practice Group. This complimentary mock trial program will provide insight into the litigation experience and how to best defend yourself if involved in a lawsuit, starting with preparing for depositions through verdict at trial.
